Chest: around the widest part, just behind the front legs. Back: from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. Measure while your dog is standing. Between two sizes, choose the larger one. Long-bodied dogs like Dachshunds should match the back length first.

I’ve bought probably four different kinds of boots for my Yorkie in the past, and somehow we always come home missing one. The fact that the boots are built directly into the Rena suit is what sold me. We’ve done several snowy walks now, and his paws stay warm, dry, and completely protected.

My 11-year-old Shih Tzu doesn't handle the cold like she used to and used to turn right back toward the door after two minutes outside. With her Rena suit on, she happily stays out for 20–30 minutes again. Seeing her enjoy her winter walks makes every penny worth it.
My dog was NOT impressed for the first 5 minutes—he walked around lifting his legs super high like a horse 😂. White Maltese + dirty winter slush equals an instant bath after every single walk. The Rena suit covers almost everything, so I just wipe off her suit when we get inside instead of giving her a full bath.
That was literally my #1 priority when ordering. We’ve lost so many individual rubber booties over the years in deep snowbanks. Since these are attached to the actual suit, there's zero chance of them falling off mid-walk.
The quality of the suit and attached boots is great, but the sizing runs smaller than expected. I ordered an M following the weight guide and had to exchange it for an L because the legs were too snug on my Corgi. Recommend sizing up if your dog is stocky or between sizes.
My Chihuahua normally starts shivering the second the door opens in winter. Wearing her Rena suit, she walks around completely comfortably without freezing up or refusing to walk.
